Covid Treatment

COVID-19:
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

As COVID-19, caused by the coronavirus, continues to spread across the world, and possibly in your city, it’s important to know whether your symptoms are mild, moderate or severe, and when to seek medical help. Coronavirus typically causes the common cold or other mild respiratory viral illnesses, but this new strain can cause much more serious illness, even death, in some patients.

How your body responds to this new coronavirus infection depends on your:

  • Age
  • Immune system
  • General health
  • Any underlying health conditions; comorbidities include being aged 65 years or older; having cardiovascular disease, chronic lung disease, sickle cell disease, diabetes, cancer, obesity, or chronic kidney disease; being pregnant; being a cigarette smoker; and being a recipient of transplant or immunosuppressive therapy. Health care providers should monitor such patients closely until clinical recovery is achieved.
  • It’s possible to have the infection and not show any coronavirus symptoms at all.

  • Dry cough

  • Gastrointestinal upset, including vomiting and diarrhea
  • Itchy, painful patches on skin (especially in young people). These patches often show up on the toes and have been referred to as “COVID toes.”

Treatment:

Most mildly ill patients can be managed in an ambulatory setting or at home through telemedicine or telephone visits

  • No imaging or specific laboratory evaluations are routinely indicated in otherwise healthy patients with mild COVID-19.
  • Older patients and those who are at higher risk of disease progression should be monitored closely until clinical recovery is achieved.

For Speedy Recovery:

  • Take plenty of rest
  • Practice pranayama and do brisk walk around the room
  • Physical Distancing, use mask, strict hand hygiene
